The Loadout: Campaign Beta is a massive update for Loadout, a F2P team-based 3rd person shooter with a satisfyingly chaotic mix of OTT cartoon violence and competitive multiplayer.
The new update 5.0 Enter The Kroad, adds lots of new additions to Loadout, so requires an entirely separate Beta to fully test before they’re implemented into the main game. It introduces the Kroad – a bloodthirsty race with 6 known sub-species who will slaughter anyone who stands between them and their Blutonium. Luckily for you, you’ll have access to billions of different weaponized technologies to fight against the Kroad’s clearly superior constitution, but it’s still not going to be easy!
The new update will also allow you to upgrade your character through PvE Campaign battles or PvP fights, including new game modes such as Alien Assault, Hold Your Pole, and Protect Your Junk. There’s also a rarity-based parts inventory management system, allowing you to collect drops on the battlefield from defeated adversaries and mission rewards to feed your gunnery addiction – from common to ultra-rare elite items. Any equipment you don’t want can be used in the new ‘Fusion system’, which allows you to combine them and improve your equipment.
The Loadout: Campaign Beta is a huge update, building on the fast paced old school shooting of the main game to create a something that’s a real blast to play. If you’re looking for an OTT shooter with tons of customisation and a wicked sense of humour, Loadout is King of the Kroad.
