Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is an impressive looking new game that takes the gritty and brutal first person combat of the popular Red Orchestra series and transports it into the Vietnam war – which creates some unique asymmetrical gameplay aspects as the heavily armed US Forces face off against the guerrilla tactics of the Vietnamese.
In most war games the sides are pretty similar, pretty much just using the same weaponry and vehicles with different skins. Not so in Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, as it accurately recreates the warfare in the Vietnam war when guerrilla tactics and ambushes stood toe to toe with the full might of the US Armed Forces.
As well as featuring the authentic and brutal approach to warfare the Red Orchestra series is known for, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam will feature large scale 64 player battles, rewards for teaming up with friends, Steam Workshop support and new game modes suited to small-scale or large-scale combat.
Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is an enticing prospect, offering authentic, visceral combat that will require some very different strategies depending on what side of the war you’re on. So if you’d like to get in there first, sign up for the apocalypse now!
