Until Dawn (Sega Mega Drive Version) is, as the title suggests, a fan made demake that transports the butterfly effect decision making gameplay of the the PS4 original into a tiny Mega Dive (Sega Genesis) ROM.
The current build features the prologue and chapter one of Until Dawn. Obviously you’re not going to get a full on 3rd person adventure from a humble 16 bit console ROM, but Until Dawn (Sega Mega Drive Version) does manage to recreate the life and death choices and their consequences in their entirety. It’s played out much like a visual novel, with you progressing through the games storyboards and making choices when prompted.
There are no QTE’s at the moment (which might be worth implementing to add a greater sense of danger), but on the whole it’s a very clever demake of the original game with some very cool touches (such as the character bios in the ‘bonus content’ section).
Note: Until Dawn (Sega Mega Drive Version) comes packaged with a Mega Drive/Genesis emulator. To play the game simply load up the emulator then select ‘File’, ‘Load Genesis Rom’, then ‘Until Dawn Demo.bin’
