1666: Amsterdam is a third person story-driven action-adventure where you play as Noa the Collector, wielding ancient witchcraft to hunt demonic entities called The Originals who hide behind human faces throughout a meticulously crafted historical Amsterdam.
In 1666: Amsterdam you’ll investigate the city by daylight and confront supernatural threats when darkness falls. Every 333 years these immortal beings must repay their accumulated power, and Noa was raised specifically to collect that debt during the Esbat moon rituals. You’ll switch between Noa’s spellcasting abilities and Aaron, a consciousness from 1999 trapped in a cat’s body, offering two completely different gameplay perspectives. Strategic choices determine how you approach each target, combining investigation with combat as you identify Originals through gablestones and other clues hidden throughout the city.
The game comes from Panache Digital Games, founded by Patrice Désilets, the creative director behind Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Assassin’s Creed. The prologue doesn’t feature any action at all, but lets you experience Noa’s origin story before the full adventure.
