1915 – Student Game

1915 is a powerful narrative driven experience which allows you to walk the trenches during the start of World War One and uncover soldier’s stories of The Battle of Loos.

In 1915 you are able to walk through an authentic recreation of a World War One trench that was used during the Battle of Loos and discover short memoirs of some of the soldiers. There are 15 memoirs to find as you explore the trenches and they help to give a great bit of insight into life in the trenches during that time.

You can instantly switch between two different time periods, one during the war and one a little after the war when the trenches are in ruins. As you read the memoirs there’s a real feeling of of camaraderie, but also a feeling that the soldiers had no idea of the atrocities the war would put them through when they first set foot in the trenches.

Taking around 10 minutes to play through, 1915 is a powerful little experience that would make a great companion piece to Peter Jackson’s They Shall Not Grow Old documentary. The audio and visual design is excellent and memoirs help to give the soldiers who fought and died for their country a voice. Highly recommended.
