Adventures of Chris is a fun looking new action platforming adventure with a 90’s Saturday morning cartoon art style and a rather unlikely rotund hero with silly superpowers.
Drawing inspiration from classic 90’s action platformers and 90’s cartoons, Adventures of Chris follows the adventures of a rather portly hero as he attempts to save seven kids who have mysteriously vanished. It’s set in a strange world filled with cyborg penguins, whiny vampires, ninja cats and lots more bizarre creatures. Chris may not be the most likely of heroes, but he has determination and the ability to inflate and float around like a balloon.
It’s a great looking game, with a fantastic cartoony art style and the sort of ridiculous plot that you’d get in a 90’s cartoon (a decade that gave us the likes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Samurai Pizza Cats and Biker Mice From Mars). The gameplay also looks like a charming callback to classic 90s action platformers like Earthworm Jim and Donkey Kong Country.
