Aftermoor is a stylish and surreal third person action platforming adventure where you use your blade spinning abilities to roll, ride and fight your way through the strange limbo you’re trapped in.
In Aftermoor you find yourself dead and reincarnated into a strange mechanical body inside a dark and surreal limbo. The only way out is to defeat a mysterious person called the “Overseer”, but to do so you’ll need to explore the world, complete objectives and grow stronger. You can run and jump as in a traditional platformer, but your attack requires you to use circular blades and roll at your enemies. You also unlock new skills as you progress, that allows you to reach new areas as in a metroidvania.
It takes around 2 hours to play through Aftermoor and it’s a fascinating little adventure. There are some optimization issues, but it more than makes up for that with the bizarre game world you explore, strange characters you meet and challenging battles with enemies and bosses. The narrative that unfolds is genuinely intriguing too and offers some interesting twists along the way. Will you escape from this surreal limbo? And do you deserve to?
