AKUMA is a loot-filled top down hack n’ slash adventure where you set out to slay your evil brother after he killed your master and framed you for it.
In AKUMA you take control of a crane who was framed by his power-hungry brother for killing the master of his people. Your brother has now claimed the kingdom for his own and you are the only one who can put an end to his tyranny.
AKUMA takes around 25 minutes to play through and sees you hacking your way through your brother’s army to reach him for a final showdown. There’s a nice selection of enemies to dispatch on your journey and there’s lots of cool loot to find and equip that will give you the edge in battle.
It uses mouse based controls, much like Diablo and has your equipable special abilities accessed via the A. Z and E keys (it’s set up for a AZERTY keyboard but it’s workable on a QWERTY). The combat does lack a little bit of finesse and feels like twin-stick control pad support would be a better option, but it’s an enjoyable romp and offers plenty of spectacle once you earn some special moves.
It’s a fun little hack n’ slash adventure, with high quality visuals, some challenging encounters and lots of lovely loot. So what are you waiting for? Go and slay your evil brother!
