An Obstacle Course For Unconventional Humans is a wonderfully weird little physics-based QWOP-like game where you stick together body parts to build the perfect human for tackling a tricky obstacle course.
Created for the Jamingtons 10 Game Jam, An Obstacle Course For Unconventional Humans allows you to become god and create your own human. You are presented with an assortment of body parts that you can easily slot together and then when you’re ready you can test them out on a tricky obstacle course.
As in QWOP, each limb that you attach to the body of your Unconventional Human is mapped to a different key on the keyboard and will flex whenever you press that key (you can also press the spacebar to flex all of them simultaneously). You need to figure out a way to propel your multi-limbed forwards through the obstacle course while collecting optional collectibles along the way.
It’s a simple concept that’s very well executed and allows you to create some wonderfully absurd abominations of nature. It turns out that it’s quite hard to build and operate a functional human being from an assortment of body parts, but you’ll have a hell of a lot of fun trying!
