Antidote to Despair is a Paris-set antidote shop simulator where you must decide who to save – your son who cynically kills unwanted people, or a mad fanatic poisoning others for “rebirth” – while patients believe you can perform miracles.
In Antidote to Despair, poisoning develops and patients weaken as the deadly Fog continues squeezing the city. Learning new techniques becomes essential for survival, guided only by a battered reference book while surrounded by enemies willing to become friends for small favors. The remnants of humanity live their last days along the Seine, treating each other as competitors for life as death approaches. Managing your conscience becomes unavoidable – helping those desperate to appear friendly requires moral compromises, or you risk getting shot or poisoned in your own shop.
Every day, portraits of those you killed stare silently into your eyes, though you whisper denials about the Fog being responsible. Newspapers try calming you with victories and promises, hiding the real situation beneath clerical language. If you can decode the hints, you’ll see what’s truly happening.
