Ascent: Infinite Realm (A:IR) is a very impressive new steampunk fantasy MMORPG from Bluhole (Tera, Devilian & PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), set in an epic fantasy world filled with airships, dragons and magic.
There’s not too much known about the plot of Ascent: Infinite Realm (A:IR) yet, but the gameplay footage looks fantastic, with massive battles taking place in the air and on land. It features spectacle filled third person combat that blends steampunk tech and magic, with a nice mixture of melee, spell based and gun combat on land and in the air.
Five character classes have been announced so far (Sorceress, Warlord, Mystic, Assassin and Gunslinger), each with their own skills and primary and secondary weapons. The characters have a nice amount of mobility too, courtesy of jet packs, wings and gliders that they can use to swoop around in the game world.
Ascent: Infinite Realm (A:IR) features big powerful mechs to commandeer on the ground, but a lot of the action also takes place up in the skies, on large steampunk airships that players can command. The battles in the air look fantastic and should be a blast in the game’s planned 40 player arena mode too.
Any game that comes from the same stable as PUBG is going to garner a lot of attention, but Ascent: Infinite Realm really seems to merit it on it’s own terms – with gorgeous visuals, fun looking massively multiplayer gameplay and epic battles in air and on land. The Beta is due to start next month, so sign up now for a chance to take to the A:IR.
