Awesomenauts, the well received 2D multiplayer battle arena from Romino Games, is going Free-to-Play on Steam, with players able to sign up for the Beta now!
Awesomenauts has been around in various forms and various platforms for some time now (the original game was released on PS3 in May 2012) and has garnered a sizeable fan base thanks to its vibrant visuals, interesting characters, fast paced 3v3 MOBA-style matches and steady stream of great updates from the developer (especially the expansion packs). It’s evolved significantly since its original release but still offers an easy accessible take on the MOBA genre with lots of character.
There’s a lot of new content planned for the free-to-play 4.0 update, including an armory, custom portraits, medals, droppods and the ability to level up your profile and the Naut you played at separately. Existing players will gain automatic access to the Beta (with no need to sign up) and will also be rewarded with Founder bonuses and character unlocks. Those who don’t currently own Awesomenauts can also get in on the Beta though, just sign up via the link below, keys will be sent out in batches between now and May 24th.
