Alpha sign ups are now live for Back 4 Blood, a new cooperative multiplayer zombie shooter from the creators of Left 4 Dead!
It looks like Valve is never going to make another Left 4 Dead, but Turtle Rock Studios (creators of the original Left 4 Dead games) are making their own sequel in all but name (though they’ve managed to still sneak a “4” into the title). It’s a co-op FPS where four players work together in various challenging scenarios while fighting off hordes of “Ridden” – humans that have mutated into terrifying abominations due to a deadly parasite infection.
As well as the traditional four player co-op PvE multiplayer you’ll also be able to play in an asymmetric multiplayer PvP mode that pits humans against the Ridden. It promises plenty of replayability too, with Left 4 Dead‘s AI Game Director making a return and a new card-based roguelike element that allows you to craft custom decks and roll different character builds.
It looks fantastic and is shaping up to be the Left 4 Dead sequel everyone’s been crying out for. Sign up for the Back 4 Blood Alpha to join in the fight early.
