Balancelot is an incredibly tough physics based platformer where you attempt to ride a unicycle through a series of hazard-filled coursed on your way to a jousting tournament.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer a year ago, Balancelot is a very addictive (and very challenging) unicycle riding adventure that plays a little like Trials would if you could only wheelie everywhere and had to carry an ungainly large jousting pole. Your jousting pole does come in handy for slaying fearsome enemies (like snails!), but a lot of the time it will just get in the way, and cause your premature demise.
The current build of Balancelot features three levels, though you’ll need some real skill to unlock the third level (you have to collect three of the special collectables that are in hard to reach areas of the first two levels). Making it over even a small bump is tricky initially but with a little practice (and a lot of failures) you can manage to pull off rome remarkable feats of unicycle agility.
It’s a great game with a charming medieval picture book visual style, fun physics based gameplay and some super tough level design. You will fail and die many many times, but it keeps you coming back for more and it’s hard not to laugh at some of the slapstick pratfalls that your character makes as he faceplants the ground for the 100th time. Highly recommended.
