Be the Ruler: Britannia is a simulation game that puts you in the role of a medieval king and sees you making life and death decisions as you build your dynasty, go to war, continue your bloodline and unify England.
Taking place in medieval Britain, Be the Ruler: Britannia puts you in the shoes of the King of Wessex and tasks you with building and maintaining a successful dynasty. A lot of the game is spent with you making Sort the Court-esque decisions on the problems your subjects come to you with. These can involve such things taxes, traders, love, trials or the economy, and they all have consequences – some immediate and some that can occur years after.
It’s not all decision making though. You rule over Wessex, but you really want to unify England and become King of England. To do this you’ll have to command your forces in tactical battles and capture your neighboring rival’s territory. You’ll also have to make sure you have a rightful heir to carry on your bloodline, which requires you to not only father a child, but also to stay on the good side of super-council called Witan. If the Witan rejects your son’s claim to the kingdom then he won’t inherit it and it’ll be game over.
Be the Ruler: Britannia is being created for an increasingly large portion of the market – seasoned gamers who don’t always have enough time to play regularly. It aims to deliver addictive and deep gameplay that’s still easily accessible after you’ve taken a break from it.
