Black Skylands is a single-player open world action RPG where you sail the skies and fight sky pirates in a future where the Earth has turned into thousands of floating islands.
In Black Skylands you take on the role of Walter, a young hero who lives on a massive floating airship called the Fathership. The colony on the Fathership is plagued by raids from a band of sky pirates called Kain’s Falcons. They mercilessly take everything from your people, and this time they’ve gone too far – you set out with your hook, a jetpack and an airship in search of revenge.
Black Skylands features a vast open world for you to explore with various different biomes and lots to discover (including the Black Skylands themselves). As you progress you’ll fight sky pirates, learn more about the world, upgrade your ship and equipment, and you’ll also help rebuild the Fathership and bring it back to its former glory. There’s also the small matter of a mysterious swarm hidden in the depths of the Black Skylands, which you’ll need to deal with sooner or later.
It’s a beautiful looking game with a vast open world that’s packed full of lore, secrets and pirates to do battle with. The Open Beta starts today at 10 am PST (1 pm EST / 7 pm CET) but you can sign up for it now and there’s also a prologue you can play immediately.
