Blade Assault is a roguelite action platformer set in a dystopian Sci-Fi future where the rich and powerful live in a city in the sky and use mutants to keep the rest of (and underground-dwelling) humanity in their iron grip.
In Blade Assault you take on the role of a skilled fighter who was kidnapped and brainwashed by the government to do their bidding. You were forced to serve the rich and powerful in the sky city of Esperanza while the rest of humanity was forced to live underground in a radiated land that was ravaged by war. However, during a mission you remembered who you really were and fought back. This didn’t go well for you as you were tossed out of the sky city to die, but you survived and now you want vengeance.
The gameplay in Blade Assault is fast paced and arcadey, with you dashing, hacking and slashing your way through linear mutant-filled levels. The level design is a little repetitive at the moment, but the combat is very fluid and the character animation is excellent. Your weapons can be transformed using cores and you can also unlock permanent upgrades to further enhance them.
It’s a very promising slice of fast paced action platforming with high quality animation and roguelike elements that should add plenty of replayability. So what are you waiting for? Time to take the fight to the sky city!
