Captain Wayne: Vacation Desperation is a fantastic GZDoom powered retro FPS about a salty sea captain who has a shotgun for an arm.
Drawing a little inspiration from Duke Nukem 3D, Captain Wayne: Vacation Desperation follows the story of a sea captain whose arm was ripped off by a vampire whale. He’s now replaced the arm with a gun and is looking for a little vengeance, which will see him blasting his way through an island filled with fishy minions.
There are plenty of retro shooters around now, but Captain Wayne: Vacation Desperation does a great job of standing out from the crowd. The visuals and audio are bold and brash, much like its run n’ gun gameplay. Wayne has a nice assortment of weapon abilities for his arm, all of which feel great and do a lot of damage. The level design is also a lot of fun, with a nice amount of variety, secrets and gags littered throughout. You’ll have a whale of a time with this nautical retro FPS!
