Community Inc. plays like a fantasy-based blend of Sim City and The Sims, with you managing your race of ‘Lings’, building a small empire and keeping happiness levels up high enough exploit them and power up mysterious portals around the world.
In Community Inc. you’re set loose in sandbox maps with randomly generated nature and a small colony of Lings to do your bidding. The Lings can be a great help in building your colony, but they each have their own individual stats and will need to be micromanaged to build a thriving community. They work for you but have their own personalities that can cause serious conflicts if managed incorrectly. You’re not their ‘God’ though – you’re soley in it for the profit. A happy workforce is a productive workforce, but you can just as easily sell the entire civilisation if they start to irritate you!
There are over 150 structures to craft, each with their own unique uses, and you can craft better clothing to help the Lings stave off the cold during the changing seasons or weaponry to help them battle monsters. You’ll also be bel to send your Lings out to explore the game world, discovering treasures and interacting with different races that you can befriend, trade with or go to war with.
It’s a fun looking game, that looks set to offer a unique take on the colony building simulation with its vibrant game world and inhabitants that are packed full of personality. It almost seems a shame to exploit your cute little Lings for profit…..almost!
