Cult of the Lamb is a roguelite action game with base-building elements where a sacrificial lamb returns to the living and gathers worshippers to aid in the battle against the old gods.
In Cult of the Lamb you take on the role of a cute little lamb who is sacrificed to appease the gods. Thankfully another god has granted you life again, but you must now do its bidding – you must aid it in the fight against the old gods.
The gameplay in Cult of the Lamb plays a little like a blend of The Binding of Isaac and Don’t Starve. You fight your way through procedurally generated dungeons, defeat bosses, recruit followers and collect resources that you can use at your base-camp. At the base-camp you can name and change the appearance of your followers, get them to harvest resources and use resources to craft and build useful structures.
The combat doesn’t feel as tight as the likes of The Binding of Isaac, but it’s a very promising game with gorgeous hand drawn visuals, a fun story and a cleverly implemented progression system. A charming and creative cultist roguelite adventure.
