Death Live is a fast paced old school rail shooter where you use guns and gravity bending orbs to blast your way through a violent futuristic game show.
Created by a team of students from the ETPA Game Design School, Death Live sees you taking on the role of a contestant in a violent sport show that’s broadcast throughout the entire galaxy. It’s a rail shooter, so the camera moves automatically and you aim and shoot your guns with the mouse. Your pistol is your main weapon, but you can also do charged shotgun shots and when you’re really in trouble you can use gravity orbs.
The gravity orbs are super-high gravity throwable items that pull in any enemies in the vicinity. This is especially handy for taking on hordes of enemies at once and can be used to draw them into deadly hazards like rotary saw blades.
It takes around 10 minutes to play through, but there are lots of achievements to unlock and you’ll need some serious gun skills and strategic use of the gravity orbs to secure a place at the top of the scoreboard. It’s a very slick and fast paced arcade experience and the gravity orbs are a fun touch that really shake up the traditional rail shooter gameplay – the only thing that could make it better would be playing it in an arcade cabinet with a light gun!
