Death Strike is an old school R-Type-esque side scrolling arcade shoot ‘em up where you attempt to save your solar system from invading alien forces.
If you’ve ever played a side scrolling shoot ‘em up then you’ll feel right at home with Death Strike within a few seconds of jumping into your ship. The whole game is designed to look and feel like a shoot ‘em up that could have been released in the late Eighties. The gameplay is simple but fun, with fast paced arcade action, big bosses to battle and no bullet hell.
It could probably do with some better power-ups but Death Strike is off to a great start. The pixel artwork is great, the controls are responsive and the gameplay is tough, but accessible. A retro arcade shoot ‘em up that would have claimed plenty of quarters back in the day.
