Due is a creepy and atmospheric little retro styled first person climbing and platforming exploration game where you set out into a vast abyss to bring a sacrifice to the beings that supply your people’s life-giving water.
Created for the Haunted PS1 Wretched Weekend game jam by Rubeki (creator of Hollow Head and Kill the K.O.T.H.), Due starts with your people running low on water and you getting sent out to deliver a flesh sacrifice tothe beings that grant your people water. You’ll have to climb high into the game’s vast, brutalist world and there are no real indicators as to where you are supposed to be going.
You may end up getting lost or falling to your doom, but at least you’re a pretty nimble climber. You can climb up walls like Spider-Man and aim in the direction you want to jump to land on platforms. You can’t cling to the walls forever though, you’ll fall off if you hang on for too long, so speed is of the essence when climbing large walls.
It’s a great little game with fun climbing mechanics, a foreboding atmosphere and an interesting world to explore. See if you’ve got what it takes to save your people!
