Fatum Betula is a surreal, spooky and trippy PS1 styled first person adventure where you explore a land between life and death, and alter it by placing different types of fluid in the water that feeds it.
Released as part of the Haunted PS1 Demo Disk (a collection of PS1 styled horror game demos), Fatum Betula creepy first person adventure where your actions can have a dramatic effect on the world. You start the game in a mystical temple and are given three sample tubes which you can add different fluids to. When you discover a fluid you can pour it into the water in the temple and trigger a different ending for the game. You’re not alone in the world, there are other creatures and spirits, who may aid your search for fluids and you can even cross over to a dream world where things get VERY trippy!
It’s a fascinating experience exploring and discovering the secrets of Fatum Betula. The PS1 era visuals are excellent and although the art style is very different, there’s a real Ghibli-esque sense of mystical wonder to the world. Highly recommended.
