FLESHBIRDS is a freaky PS1 styled first person horror game where you attempt to find safety in a forest filled with flesh eating birds!
The overgrown forest of FLESHBIRDS really isn’t a nice place to be. It’s dark, creepy, the sky is blood red and there’s also the small fact that swarms of flesh eating crows that are keen to rip you apart. There is an abandoned church nearby that should provide some safety from the bloodthirsty birds, but getting there won’t be easy – particularly as you only have a shovel to fend them off!
The walk to the church is a perilous one, but there are small shacks along the way that you can find temporary refuge in and learn a little more about the backstory. Bashing crows can damage your shovel, but there are more scattered around the area (if you can reach them) and there are also bushes that you can eat the fruit from to replenish your energy.
Taking around 15 minutes to play through, FLESHBIRDS really impresses with its retro PS1 aesthetic, macabre sense of humor and horror B-Movie premise. The game builds a very tense atmosphere and there are some terrifying moments throughout. You may not think a few birds would be scary, but you really start to panic as they fly at you and all you can do is wildly flail your shovel! Highly recommended.
