G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra is an old school side-scrolling beat ‘em up where the JOE’s face off against the nefarious Cobra.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer during the Beta sign up, G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra is a retro beat ‘em up based on the classic G.I. JOE cartoon. The demo features two playable characters and two levels to fight your way through. The combat is fairly simple Streets of Rage/Final Fight fare, with basic attacks, specials and usable weapons. As you beat up enemies you can collect floppy disks which you’ll be able to use to unlock stuff in the shop in the full game
At the moment the combat in G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra doesn’t feel that great and it’s very basic. However the cartoony pixel art visuals really pop and it’s packed full of G.I. JOE nostalgia. Certainly worth checking out if you’re a G.I. JOE fan anyway.
