GearStorm is a first person Sci-Fi sandbox survival game that sees players fighting, working together, exploring and building bases to help them survive on a fully destructible alien planet as they fend off alien attacks and deal with a deadly nano-virus that’s decimating the population.
Currently in development by Iron City Games, GearStorm takes place in a distant future where humanity has fled from Earth to colonize an alien planet after a nano-virus, dubbed the “Phage”, left Earth uninhabitable. Players will now cooperate and compete as they colonize a new planet, but it’s not going to be easy – there’s some hostile indigenous species to deal with and it looks like the Phage may have spread to here too – turning humans into rage-filled zombie-like creatures.
GearStorm is focusing on gameplay over graphics, which allows the devs to make the entire world destructible while also allowing for modular base building and fast paced combat against hundreds of humans, aliens and Phage zombies. Players will be able to craft and upgrade lots of gadgets, weapons and armor, as well as being able to build and drive vehicles.
