Get Rich Or Die 2 is an awesome blend of first person mech combat, Smash TV-esque arcade action and 80’s pop culture as you blast your way through an ultraviolent arena based TV show for a chance to win millions of dollars in prize money!
In Get Rich Or Die 2 you play a contestant in a Running Man/Smash TV-esque game show that sees you piloting a mech through a maze of kill rooms, packed full of hazards and swarms of enemies that you have to dispatch before moving on to the next room. It’s a very tough game (even in easy mode) that constantly puts you on the back foot as you clomp around the arenas narrowly avoiding danger while blasting masses of enemies.
Get Rich Or Die 2 is currently in Alpha, with the dev planning to move into Beta soon. This may end up being the most definitive version though because in future builds the current copyrighted 80’s movie clips will be replaced by original FMV sequences. The current movie clips are awesome – with classic clips from the likes of Robocop “I’d buy that for a Dollar!”, Commando “Remember, Sully, when I promised I’d kill you last?” and They Live “I came here to chew bubblegum and kick ass…”, and there’s even some classic soundbites such as Macho Man Randy Savage going “oooh yeah!” when you pick up a power up.
The 80’s movie clips and soundbites really add to the games OTT 80’s futuristic vibe, but it’ll still be a blast once the copyrighted content is replaced, as the gameplay is very addictive and Get Rich Or Die 2 still has plenty of style to spare. It’s a big, bold and brash game about using beefy guns to blast your way through overwhelming numbers of enemies. Bombastic 80’s infused bloodsport fun we highly recommend checking out.
