Guardians of the Past features a novel blend of arena brawling, trap building and strategy as players fight to the death in arenas that they fill with their own traps.
Playable in 4 player local or online multiplayer, Guardians of the Past sees players choosing from a selection of traps then adding them to the battlefield before the start of each match. There are various arenas, some of which already have some deadly traps built into them, and the fact that you can add your own traps to them means that there’s a near infinite combination if layouts your arenas can have.
There’s a nice selection of traps you can lay, all with wonderfully descriptive names – The Jabber, The Grabber, The Igniter, The Freezer, The Blighter, The Springer, The Slicer, The Zapper, The Stinger, The Impaler, The Sticker and The Scorcher. Not only are they quite deadly on their own, but you can chain them together for maximum impact – so you can use the traps hurl players through the air then blast them with arrows, fire and ice or electrify them as they wade through tar.
It’s a fun looking game that offers a different battlefield layout every time you play and lots of brutal trap combos to destroy your opponents with. Guardians of the Past’s Alpha will take place between the 20th and 27th of June so sign up now to join in the trap laying multiplayer mayhem.
