Gunborg is a slick and stylish 2D action platforming adventure where you steal guns and deflect bullets as you fight your way through a giant battleship filled with robots and aliens.
In Gunborg you take on the role of a mysterious lone warrior as she boards, then slices and shoots her way through a huge alien spaceship. Your default weapon is a plasma sword but you can pick up and use any weapons any downed enemies drop (and ditch them when they run out of ammo). You also have a very nifty shield which you can use to deflect your enemies bullets back at them.
The current build of Gunborg features three full levels, complete with two challenging boss fights. The gameplay is fast paced and arcadey, with a nice mixture of precision jumping and combat, and the bosses require a little thought to take them down.
Even in its current state Gunborg is a very polished experience with responsive controls, fluid animation and a kickass soundtrack. The levels are well designed, maintaining a good pace and offering a nice amount of challenge while never being frustrating. It’s a hell of a lot of fun and it’ll be interesting to learn more about the story of your badass warrior. Highly recommended.
