Alpha sign ups are now live for Hyenas, a competitive multiplayer FPS where teams of players attempt to steal valuable pop-culture artefacts from spaceships before they’re sold to billionaires on Mars.
Currently in development by Creative Assembly (Creators of Rise and Alien Isolation) Hyenas takes place in a future where the Earth is gone and pop-culture artefacts are now a very valuable commodity. Vast amounts of them are stored on spaceships (called Plunderships), which sell the artefacts to billionaires for extortionate prices. It’s up to you to break into the Plunderships with your team to liberate those artefacts, but there are also rival teams attempting to do the same.
The Hyenas are a cast of misfits, each of which has their own unique personality and abilities. They promise to suit a variety of different playstyles, from going all guns blazing, to being a little more tactical and manipulating the environment. Interestingly, the game environments will also incorporate zero-G areas that you’ll be able to traverse to from normal gravity seamlessly.
It looks like a hell of a lot of fun, with big personalities, plenty of action and cool pop culture memorabilia. The robbery aspect adds a nice twist to the hero shooter genre and the zero-G combat sounds great. Sign up now to blast off with the Alpha early.
