Ikarus Parkour – Beta Demo

Ikarus Parkour is a hardcore first person precision parkour platformer where you attempt to ascend a massive megatower to earn money, fame and freedom.

A high stakes precision platformer in a similar vein as Beton Brutal, Ikarus Parkour sees you attempting to climb an 850 meter tower to win life-changing amounts of money and your freedom. There are two modes you can play – Hard and Easy. Hard is the way the game is meant to be played, with no checkpoints, a speedrun timer and the danger of falling all the way back to the beginning and losing your progress. Easy, on the other hand, has plenty of checkpoints for a more chilled out climbing experience.

The demo can be speedrun in under 15 minutes, but it’ll likely take you much longer than that (initially anyway), as there are plenty of perilous drops and a few interesting distractions (including vaping and drinking beer). There are also a few story elements to discover, which make a nice break from the vertigo-inducing platforming.

It will draw comparisons to Beton Brutal (which arguably has a more cohesive environmental design) but it can certainly stand shoulder-to shoulder with Jan Malitschek’s game, with excellent course design and fluid, responsive movement. Also, being able to wall-jump is a nice addition. I high stakes parkour platformer well worth jumping on.
