Insula: Bounty Royale is a PvPvE multiplayer arena shooter with battle royale elements and plenty of high octane aerial acrobatics as you use customizable combat exosuits and mechanized battle robots to collect bounties a mysterious alien planet.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer back in 2018, in Insula: Bounty Royale you take on the role of a combat engineer who has awoken from stasis in the remnants of a once-thriving mining colony located in the atmosphere above a planet called Genesis. You must now earn bounties in a mechanized bounty-hunting bloodsport to allow you to build and upgrade an anthrobot (a mechanized combat-ready battle chassis that’s controlled via a neutral link), and try to get to the bottom of what happened on the planet.
The narrative of Insula: Bounty Royale plays out in the base and in some segments of solo gameplay, while the multiplayer element is more focused on flying and blasting rivals and AI controlled enemies in a blend of arena shooter and battle royale gameplay. In the arena you can either control your character inside an exosuit or you can control an anthrobot via a neural-link. Both have plenty of customization options and they’re highly mobile – able to use jetpacks to soar around the arena like Iron Man.
In the arena each player starts with a bounty on their head, which increases with each rival they kill. It’s not just human opponents out there though – there’s also lots of local wildlife that can earn some big bounties (providing you kill them before they kill you!).
It’s a great looking game that looks set to deliver a unique blend of arena shooter and battle royale gameplay with some wonderfully agile jetpacking combatants. Sign up for the Alpha to enter the fray early.
