Iris & the Giant is a very stylish card-based roguelike dungeon crawler that follows a young girl as she climbs through the levels of her subconscious and battles the inner demons that are causing her distress.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer last November, Iris & the Giant features a very addictive blend of roguelike dungeon crawling and CCG gameplay as you collect and play cards to battle the various types of enemy you face. Each dungeon features three lanes of enemies and you need to use your various cards to maximize your attacks and exploit your enemies weaknesses.
The dungeon crawling CCG gameplay of Iris & the Giant is easy to pick up and play, but soon gets challenging as you reach the higher levels as more challenging enemy types are introduced. You also need to manage your deck well as most of your cards are single use only and you really don’t want to run out halfway through a level.
