Kriophobia is a frostbitten fixed camera survival horror game about a geophysicist who finds herself trapped in an abandoned Soviet military base.
Drawing inspiration from 90s survival horror classics, in Kriophobia you follow the story of Anna – a lone geophysicist who’s trapped in an underground military complex on a remote Russian island. The base is not only filled with monsters, but also sub-zero temperatures, so you’ll need to find ways to keep warm while solving puzzles and fending off attacks.
The Kriophobia demo takes around 30 minutes to play through and impresses with its visual style, classic survival horror gameplay and creepy monsters. It could do with a zoom function to allow you to see clues better (and some colorblind options), but aside from that it’s off to a great start and a welcome throwback to 90s survival horror.
