Legion: The Eternal War is an ambitious new massively multiplayer RPG set in a Tolkien-esque high fantasy world where a war between Elves and Humans has allowed a real dark force to rise that threatens to wipe both races out.
The world of Legion: The Eternal War has been ravaged by a fifty year war between humans and Elves after the assassination of both of their leaders by an unknown faction. Without the guidance of the honorable leaders the world plunged into all out war and a true darkness began to spread, unnoticed in the chaos. An ancient evil that sat beneath the mountains started growing in power, corrupting the once great world and delving it into darkness. Can anyone reinstate the power of good? Or will the world be condemned to an eternal war?
In Legion: The Eternal War you take on the role of a traveller who can form an allegiance with either the Elves or the Humans. It will feature skill based melee, ranged and magic based combat. It uses an advanced hit detection system with individual weapons, shields and armor losing durability if they receive a blow. You also earn experience in each individual type of combat/activity as you perform them – so if you kill enemies with an axe you’ll get better at axe-based combat or you’ll improve your fishing skills by catching fish.
Legion: The Eternal War is still VERY early in development, with just a few of the gameplay elements implemented so far and plenty of placeholder art (even the characters are just the Unreal Engine default ones at the moment). It shows a lot of promise though – the game world already looks pretty impressive, the combat, the concept art is great, the levelling systems look set to offer plenty of depth and the world has a satisfyingly rich lore.
