Created by Andyman404 (creator of Fingerpaint Art Restoration and An Obstacle Course For Unconventional Humans), Lighthouse of Better Days is a short game created for the A Game By Its Cover 2021 game jam. In the game you control the light of a little lighthouse and shine your light on ships to help keep their hopes up across five stormy nights.
The gameplay is fairly simple, but it’s a wonderfully uplifting experience. The audio score is beautiful and the visuals are stunning – particularly the way the seagulls swarm around and the way your light pierces the darkness, bringing a little glimpse of sunshine into the world. It’s a touching little reminder that if you can weather the storm, brighter times are on the horizon. Sometimes you just need a little light to help guide your through the darkness.
