lil’ Sherman features a challenging fusion of tower defense and third person tank combat as you blow up tanks, scavenge resources and build defenses to protect your base from enemy attacks.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer during the Alpha Sign Up, lil’ Sherman sees you taking control of a Sherman tank and leading a counter-offensive against the Nazi forces during WWII. Your tank is vastly outnumbered and outgunned, but you can purchase upgrades for it and you can also place a variety of defenses, such as missile turrets, flamethrowers, artillery and even a Tesla tower.
The lil’ Sherman Alpha build features one mission and an endless mode. It’s quite a challenging game initially, but before missions you can go back to the garage screen and purchase upgrades for your tank which make a whole lot of difference. You’ll still need some serious tank piloting skills and a lot of turrets placed to survive more than five minutes in survival mode though!
lil’ Sherman‘s blend of tower defense and tank combat is very tough, but also very addictive. It’s a very fast paced and chaotic experience – in fact, sometimes it feels a little too fast paced. You only get a few seconds between waves to set up your defenses, which can lead to some less than effective placement strategies. Sill, even with this minor inconvenience, lil’ Sherman is shaping up to be a lot of fun squeezed into a lil’ tank.
