Loco Motive is a lighthearted murder-mystery point and click adventure that follows an accountant as he investigates a murder most foul aboard a luxury steamtrain.
Created for the AdventureX Jam, Loco Motive is a pixel art point and click adventure that harkens back to the glory days of the Lucasarts adventures and plays out like a funnier version of Murder on the Orient Express. In the game you follow the adventure of an accountant called Arthur Ackerman whose employer is murdered in cold blood while on a train. You now need to chat to the other passengers, search for clues and get back your client’s will (which may be key to finding out who the killer is).
Taking around 30 minutes to play through, the level of polish in Loco Motive is incredible – with fantastic pixel art animation, intuitive puzzles, a great sense of humor and well written dialogue. It’s a lot of fun getting to know all the oddball characters aboard the train and the story takes some great twists along the way. It feels a lot like someone’s unearthed a long lost Lucasarts classic and it makes for a hilarious high-speed train ride you won’t want to miss. Highly recommended.
