Lord Winklebottom Investigates is a whimsical 1920’s murder mystery point and click adventure where a gentleman giraffe and his hippo sidekick attempt to solve a murder most foul.
In Lord Winklebottom Investigates you follow the adventures of a Sherlock and Watson-esque pair of investigators who have been called to solve the murder of an old friend. The victim in question was Admiral Gilfrey, an axolotl who spent his life travelling the globe and has no known enemies. Time to investigate the crime scene and see that you can dig up!
The Kickstarter demo for Lord Winklebottom Investigates features around 15 minutes of gameplay and offers a good taste of things to come. The artwork’s excellent, it’s all fully voice acted and the UI is very easy to use. The characters and animal based civilisation they live in are particular highlights and offer up lots of humorous moments – such as humans being thought of as dinosaur-like monsters that are now extinct. The puzzle design is very well done too, and requires some real investigating and searching for clues rather than just randomly combining objects together. See if you can get to the bottom of this Winklebottom mystery.
