Master Key is a Zelda inspired action adventure with metroidvania elements, set in a 1-bit styled black and white world that’s packed full of secrets.
Drawing inspiration from the classic top-down Zelda games (Link’s Awakening especially), Master Key is black and white top-down action adventure that follows a little fox who discovers a magical key after falling down a deep dark hole. It features a filler-free compact game world that focuses on non-guided exploration and has plenty of secrets to discover, monsters to fight and puzzles to solve. There are also shops, weapons and upgrades to find and boss fights to deal with.
At the moment the only big issue with Master Key is that the combat doesn’t feel very accurate. Other than that, it’s a very promising game with a great art style, an interesting game world and lots of retro Link to the Past/Link’s Awakening vibes. It’s a delightful place to explore and there’s always a fun new discovery awaiting around the corner.
