Melody of the Light is a beautifully animated 2D pixel art metroidvania with bullet hell elements, which follows a young girl who is searching for her father in a mysterious ethereal world.
In Melody of the Light you take on the role of a young girl called Kinanthi who has travelled to a mysterious world called The Origin. She’s there in search of her father, but she’ll have to explore the strange world and unravel its secrets first.
As you explore Melody of the Light’s beautiful pixel art world you’ll fight monsters, chat to odd NPCs, fight bosses and unlock new abilities that allow you to reach new areas. Your character is quick and responsive, which is handy as some of the boss fights require a little agility to avoid their bullet hell style attacks.
It can be a little confusing as to where you’re supposed to go at times, but other than that Melody of the Light is a wonderful metroidvania. It impresses with it’s beautiful pixel art animation, fun boss battles and interesting world that’s packed full of secrets to discover. Highly recommended.
