Morbid: The Lords of Ire is a brutal soulslike action RPG where you face the lords who rule over a world of pain and suffering.
The Lords of Ire takes place in the same universe as 2D top-down horrorpunk action RPG Morbid: The Seven Acolytes and takes place after the events of that game. Lords of Ire is a fully 2D soulsike adventure though, so you get to experience the world from a whole new perspective.
Gameplay-wise Morbid: The Lords of Ire isn’t really bringing much new to the soulslike genre, but the combat is solid, responsive and caters for different fighting styles. The combat is a little more forgiving than the likes of Dark Souls, but it will still punish complacency, so you can’t just mash away at buttons. The environmental and monster designs are particularly impressive and will make you want to explore more of its beautiful grim world.
