Mortal Shell is a Dark Souls inspired dark fantasy action RPG where you occupy the bodies of fallen warriors and fight your way through a shattered world that saps your sanity.
Currently in development by Cold Symmetry, Mortal Shell is a third person action RPG adventure that wears its love for the Souls games on its sleeve. In the game you are an entity that can possess the bodies (the “Mortal Shells”) of defeated warriors and use them as you battle your way through a shattered world.
The Mortal Shell open Beta stays clear of any plot spoilers, but allows you to possess two Mortal Shells (Harros and Teil), each with their own unique playstyles. The combat in Mortal Shell is very Soulsian, with deliberate combat that requires mastery of parries, blocks and counter-attacks. It’s created with hardcore fans of Souls games in mind, so you can expect to be punished for your mistakes and to die a lot!
