MutaGenesis: A Wasteland Odyssey is a beautifully drawn post-apocalyptic point and click adventure that sees a wisecracking anthropomorphic cat attempting to find his way home after an epic battle between humanity and animal-kind.
MutaGenesis: A Wasteland Odyssey is set in a grungy comic book-stlyed word where tensions between humans and animals have reached a head and resulted in an all out war. You take on the role of Archie Shipp, a cat who’s trying to get home to his family across the human, animal and mutant filled radioactive world that’s left in the fallout of that war.
The current Beta build sees you stopping off at an old house in the middle of the post-nuclear wasteland in search of supplies. However it soon becomes apparent that the home belongs to a bigoted human with a TV screen for a face who wants to keep you captive and use you as a servant. You’ll need to figure out a way to escape the human’s disgusting old house and continue your journey back home.
The visuals in MutaGenesis: A Wasteland Odyssey are excellent, with high quality artwork and great character design, making the whole thing feel like you’re playing an interactive comic book. Some of the puzzles are a little obtuse, but on the whole they’re well designed. The writing and voicework is great too – Archie Shipp is a witty, intelligent and likeable character who’s more than happy to stand up to the grotesque human that’s holding him captive. Sign up for the Beta now to help Archie on his journey through that beautifully drawn post-apocalyptic world!
