In Name of the Will you are a model cult member with a spotless record and no memory. You have no idea what the cult is or why you’re there, but you’ll need to blend in to stay safe. Your greatest threat isn’t monsters lurking in shadows – it’s the smiling, masked neighbors watching your every move.
Your compliance is measured, scoring hesitations and rebellious thoughts. By day you go to class, attend rituals and maintain appearances; by night, you’ll hack forbidden systems and uncover buried truths while evading the omnipresent gaze of The Benevolent Father.
The Name of the Will demo features about an hour of gameplay and realism impresses with its oppressive atmosphere and fantastic hand-drawn animation. There are a few minor translation issues and it would be good if the text was larger, but aside from that it’s a very impressive game and a very unique take on cultist horror.
