Next Up Hero is an innovative community-focused dungeon crawling adventure, in which every time you die, you leave behind an echo that can be raised by the next player.
Next Up Hero is the debut game to be released by Digital Continue, a new studio formed by Joe Tringali, co-founder of 5th Cell (Scribblenauts, Lock’s Quest, Drawn to Life). It’s a stylish isometric dungeon crawler that sends you on quests that see you battling a wide variety of powerful enemies. The combat is fast paced and fun, with vibrant visuals, excellent character animation and a nice selection of customizable and upgradeable heroes that can use abilities from defeated monsters.
In the game you battle against powerful mech and monsters that can be too much for one person to handle. However if you die an echo of your last play can be resurrected by the next player. The more players that die, the more echoes can be resurrected and the better the chances of someone succeeding and giving the community a shared victory.
It’s a very clever concept, that gives you a real feeling of community, as even if you die you’re helping the cause and victories against the monsters feels like an achievement that everyone has worked towards.
