Noch is a surreal narrative-driven survival horror adventure set in a strange reality where a girl called Lisa has destroyed the world.
In Noch you find yourself driving along a highway in a broken world that’s been destroyed by a girl. Bizarre visions appear in the skies, shadowy wolf-like beasts hunt you and a mysterious demon taunts you at every turn. It feels like you’re trapped in a surreal nightmare and you’ll have to use your wits and brute force to survive it.
The current build of Noch takes around 15 minutes to play through and sees you dealing with the aftermath of a car crash with a deer. You need to search the environment for useful items and weapons that can aid your survival and help you solve puzzles, all while being taunted by a mysterious demonic stranger.
Whether it’s due to translation issues or the fact that this is a vertical slice of the game, the story is extremely confusing in the current build, but it is an interesting and unique experience. It’s got an intriguing premise, the visuals are beautiful, the puzzle elements are well done and you can even play in co-op multiplayer if you fancy some company. The broken world of Noch is a fascinating place and it’ll be interesting to discover what other oddities it holds.
