Oddinary Highway is a roguelite retrofuturistic side-scrolling shoot ‘em up where the game mechanics constantly change as you go on on a hyperspace roadtrip to take down the robo-mafia.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer back in 2017, Oddinary Highway is a beautifully animated pixel art shoot ‘em up with roguelite elements and a very cool retrofuturistic aesthetic. In the game you take on the role of a student whose father just happens to be the king of the whole Universe. Unfortunately your pop has also got a bit of a gambling problem and has managed to lose the entire Universe in a poker bet with the robo-mafia. You now set off on an intergalactic roadtrip to beat the robo-mafia, save your dad and free the Universe.
Playable in single-player or local co-op, Oddinary Highway sees you hurtling through beautiful retrofuturistic landscapes, collecting weapons, blasting enemies and battling big bosses. The game also promises modifiers that affect how you play each level, a wide variety of upgrades and set daily and weekly runs with online leaderboards.
