Orange County is an odd little PS1 styled first person horror game where you cruise the streets on a skateboard and attempt to avoid getting splatted by the increasing traffic.
Created for the Haunted PS1 Summer Spooks game jam, in Orange County you find yourself skating around a procedurally generated city in the dark. This isn’t a great idea because your visibility is low, there are cars on the roads and you’re constantly pursued by a little campus security vehicle. Your aim is simply to skate around and attempt to survive as the traffic increases around you.
At the moment Orange County is a very barebones experience, but it’s got a great aesthetic and a fun fusion of skateboarding and horror. It’d be nice to see it fleshed out a bit more with collectibles, the ability to do stunts (or even jump) and some more determined pursuers. Even in its current form it’s a very interesting little game though, well worth taking for a spin.
